Dayton, Ohio (WDTN) - Provocative, beautiful, whimsical, and sometimes even surreal, this year’s FilmDayton Festival features Dayton’s own in a series of films dealing with everything from New Orleans night life to dancing garbage trucks.

The FilmDayton Festival also ensures a great mix of genre and the ‘something for everyone’ that makes film festivals so engaging.

The films’ creators and stars once again take center stage, with Q and A sessions following all screenings.

In addition to film screenings, the weekend is peppered with special film-themed workshops and special events including:

Workshops for film professionals and anyone interested in getting an inside look at the industry.

Pitch It     is back which is an interactive opportunity where contestants pitch their best idea for a movie to win a cash prize and screenwriting software from Final Draft.

Also, a Filmmaker Meet and Greet Party will take place where audiences and filmmakers get to meet, mingle and have a great time? Food, drink, music and more.

As a major celebration of the region, the fourth annual festival brings the launch of the FilmDayton Awards which will recognize filmmakers who go above and beyond with their creativity, skill and service to make our local industry great.

All-access passes for the Friday through Sunday festival are available for $75; Single tickets are $9.
