CLAYTON, Ohio - (WDTN) - A warning about water after an eight year old boy nearly drowns.
He was discovered at the bottom of an inground pool in the 4100 block of Rundell drive in Clayton Monday afternoon.
EMTs have no idea how long he was under water. They were able to establish a heart beat and took the child to Dayton Children's medical center in stable condition.
Officers say it's a reminder of how quickly and silently something like this can happen.
"There was plenty of supervision. But somebody took their eyes off him and we're not sure what happened but anytime you have children near a body of water it's imperative to keep an eye on them," said Clayton police officer, Jeff Garrison.
Millions turned their attention skyward to view a rare "ring of fire' eclipse.
