MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Ohio (WDTN) - Montgomery County students will soon be able to receive the H1N1 vaccine in school. Public Health will start distributing the nasal mist and the shot October 27 at Incarnation School in Centerville and Saint Rita School in Harrison Township. Health officials said those schools were chosen to be first because they responded to the offer first.
"We're trying to get to all the schools and we're trying to make sure that we've got vaccinations going around the community as quick as we can," said Bill Wharton, Public Health - Dayton & Montgomery County.
Wharton said health officials have saved 14,000 doses of H1N1 vaccine for the school program. That is not enough to cover all Montgomery County students who want to be immunized, but more shipments are expected soon.

Students under the age of 10 will need a second dose. Wharton said public health will administer those doses 28 days after the first.
H1N1 immunizations in Montgomery County schools could go into late December.
