BEAVERCREEK, Ohio (WDTN) - One person was injured when a school bus and a car collided at a Beavercreek intersection Tuesday. Police and medics found the car pinned by a school bus at Fairfield and Kemp roads.
"Whenever we get a crash involved with a school bus, everyone's main concern is the bus occupied with children," Beavercreek Police Sgt. Ted McFaddin said.
No children were on board the special needs bus, just the driver and her assistant. A child was in the back seat of the Chevy Caprice. Police got him out easily and tried to keep him warm and comfort him, while medics worked to free his grandfather from the wreckage.
"The vehicle was impacted on the left front door of the vehicle which gave them some problems of getting the door through the passenger side. And because of injuries, had to take extra care and caution," McFaddin said.
Police still aren't sure who's to blame for the crash, but say it's lucky neither driver appears to have been speeding through the intersection.
"The good news is sounds like the only thing was damaged is some metal and sounds like everybody is going to ok," Beavercreek Superintendent Dennis Morrison said.
