West Carrollton, Ohio (WDTN) - Rodney Brewer was still shaken Monday morning after an explosion blew him out of his bed just before midnight Sunday.

"I was laying there (in bed) and it felt like the whole house was falling down. It knocked me completely out of bed. By the time I got back up and opened the curtain, I saw nothing but a giant fireball, sparks flying in the air," Brewer said.

His brother, who lives just a few houses down, spent the morning scooping up glass from his front patio. A storm window was blown out of the house, sending shards of glass into the yard. His son, Steve Brewer drove in from Miamisburg to help clean up.

"My buddy called and talked to my mom and said all the windows were blown out, but I didn't expect to see this," Brewer said as he assessed the damage of the house. "It blew out all the front windows, two of the basement windows, there's a crack in the foundation of the basement and the drop ceiling in the living room fell in," he said.

According to West Carrollton officials, inspectors made their rounds in the area offering assistance to residents who want to rebuild.
