DAYTON (WDTN) - On Monday, Montgomery County Prosecutors charged Robert Finkley of Gainesville, Florida, for killing two students with ties to Carroll High School.

18-year-old Cory Cooper and 20-year-old Christina Jackson died Saturday at the intersection of Wayne and Wilmington in Dayton.

Investigators said Finkley, who had been drinking, sped through the intersection at a high rate of speed and struck the victim's car.

Finkley has been formally charged with two counts of aggravated vehicular homicide.

He remained behind bars at the Montgomery County Jail on Monday afternoon.

"This was a horrific crash," said Sgt. Mark Ponichtera with the Dayton Police Department. "The occupants never had an idea that it was happening or coming. We have a high rate of speed involved in the suspect vehicle. Our minimum calculations right now are at least 70 miles an hour".

Sgt. Ponichtera said they expect to have Finkley's blood tests back on Wednesday and depending on the results, more charges could be filed.
