KETTERING, Ohio (WDTN) - Shell casings littered the street in front of Dustin Boggs' house in the 1500 block of Norton Avenue in Kettering just before noon Sunday morning.

"It's crazy. I've never been a part of anything like this all my life, with so many cops and stuff going around," Boggs said.

Boggs said he and his wife had just returned home when the shooting started.

"My wife was putting groceries away and she started screaming for me, and I came up and there were guys running up and down the street with guns and shooting at each other," Boggs said.

According to police many neighbors saw or heard the shooting and called for help. When officers arrived, the shooters were gone, but according to investigators, there is reason to believe that the suspects also left their mark in Dayton. Officers were called to Woodbine Avenue, just a few blocks north of the shooting scene at about the same time. Neighbors reported seeing two cars chasing each other over sidewalks and through yards.

"There was some talk and speculation that perhaps this spilled over from an incident in Dayton involving a hit skip or two vehicles chasing one another, so we're still in the process of trying to determine what the facts are and what we're dealing with," said Officer Michael Burke, Kettering Police.

Police are still looking into whether the incidents are related, and officers are still searching for the suspects.
