DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - Dayton Police uncovered a stash of drugs and arrested one person inside an apartment Friday morning.

Oscar Champion Jr. is behind bars, accused of trespassing and obstructing official business.

Police said he was one of several people inside the Benning Place apartment around 7:45.

Police were called to the DeSoto Bass housing complex on reports of a hostage situation, but after about 20 minutes, determined it was all a hoax.

However, once officers made their way inside the apartment, they say they found crack cocaine, and four people who were not supposed to be there.

Police say the person who lives at the apartment is in the hospital.

Champion is being held on a $1000 bond.
