DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - Public Health - Dayton & Montgomery County will begin vaccinating the general public (in addition to the targeted groups) for the H1N1 flu virus beginning Monday, December 14 from 1-7 p.m. at Hara Arena, 1001 Shiloh Springs Rd., Trotwood.
Children under age 10 who received their initial H1N1 vaccination, on or prior to November 16, are eligible to receive their second dose of the vaccine at this clinic. Two doses of the H1N1 vaccine are required for children under age 10 to be fully protected.
Participants at the clinic will be required to complete a flu vaccination consent form. This form is available for download at phdmc.org and will also be available at the clinic. These vaccination consent forms are also available at local libraries in Montgomery County.
After you are immunized, it normally takes about two weeks to be fully protected. Therefore, it is important to get vaccinated as quickly as possible.
Additional information about upcoming H1N1 clinics can be found at phdmc.org or by calling the flu information line at 224-8796.
