SIDNEY, Ohio (WDTN) - One mis-filed vote has helped pass a school levy in Sidney.

Board of Elections officials discovered a ballot that had been filed in the wrong precinct.

Because of that, the vote was not counted toward the school levy during recent recounts.

Earlier this month, the board ruled the outcome a tie, which under Ohio law means the levy was defeated.

This missing ballot broke the tie.
