DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - A former Trotwood police officer wanted for murder was found dead in his Alabama home Wednesday.
Tommy Swint had been indicted earlier in the day by the Montgomery County Grand Jury for the 1991 murder of Tina Ivery.
The one count of murder was filed by prosecutors Feb. 3 at 11:55 a.m.
It was about 2:00 p.m. when police in Phenix City, Alabama were approaching Swint's home when they heard a single gun shot.
Once inside, they found Swint's body.
It was in December 1991 that tree trimmers found Ivery's body in a trash pile near Dayton Liberty and Calumet roads.
