DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - A tip into the Crime stoppers line led to the arrest of a Dayton man, accused of breaking the law in New Mexico.

22 year old Matthew Binegar was booked into the Montgomery County jai Tuesday night.

He was arrested as he stepped off a Greyhound bus in downtown Dayton around 7:30 Tuesday night. He was just getting into town from New Mexico.

A tipster called Crime Stoppers anonymous tip line, 222-STOP, earlier in the day to report that Binegar had a felony warrant out of Albuquerque, New Mexico, for receiving a stolen motor vehicle. That tipster described what Binegar was wearing. When police arrived to meet the bus, they arrested Binegar.

Officers took him to jail. That's where they say they took a marijuana pipe out of his pants pocket.

Binegar was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia by Dayton, and he could be extradited to New Mexico to face charges there.
