SUGARCREEK TWP (WDTN) - Firefighters in Sugarcreek Township worked to save a house after a barn caught fire around 11:30 Wednesday morning.

Crews arrived on the scene in the 2100 block of Stewart Road to find the barn fully engulfed. But the immediate concern was to keep flames from jumping to the nearby houses.

With no hydrants nearby, firefighters had to truck water to the scene and crews from the Xenia Township fire department were called for mutual aid assistance.

Officials said the barn and any contents are total loss. The cause of the fire is still being investigated.

The house did not suffer any damage.

No injuries were reported.
