DAYTON, Ohio (Dayton Business Journal) - According to the Dayton Business Journal, public colleges and universities in the Dayton region have been recommended for more than $62 million in state funding for capital projects for the next two years.

At the request of Gov. John Kasich, Ohio public institutions collaborated to prioritize projects for available state funding. School leaders submitted a wish list yesterday that includes recommendations for $400 million in capital projects, broken down into four focuses: public-private partnerships, workforce development initiatives, interdisciplinary approaches and long-term maintenance projects.

Recommendations were compiled by the Ohio Higher Education Capital Funding Commission, a seven-member commission of university and community college presidents and higher education associates, headed by Ohio State University  President E. Gordon Gee.
