DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - Congressman Mike Turner announced a grant Friday of $584,000 to the St. Mary Development Corporation of Dayton to support the corporation’s efforts to revitalize the community and create affordable housing in Southwest Ohio.

The grant comes from NeighborWorks America.

St. Mary Development Corporation is a faith-based non-profit organization that creates sustainable affordable housing solutions in southwest Ohio through real estate development and management; homeownership and supportive housing services; and community revitalization initiatives.

“St. Mary is poised to begin work at the Dayton VA Medical Center and is continuing other vital projects across our community in helping seniors find safe and affordable housing opportunities. I’m looking forward to working with them as we begin 2012,” said Turner.
