DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - A teenage rape suspect surrendered to police Tuesday afternoon.

Carlos Deonte Harris, 17, turned himself in about 3:00.

Harris is accused of robbing a woman at gunpoint, repeatedly raping her, and then stealing her car.

Police said it happened last week on Bruce Avenue, a few houses away from where Harris lives with his family.

This morning U.S. Marshals were back on Bruce Avenue and talked to his family.

"I think it was pretty obvious to him and his family as well as police departments and that Marshal's office that he was wanted and no one was going to stop until he was arrested on those warrants," said Dayton Police Sgt. Tom Flanders.

Harris is being held in the Montgomery County Juvenile Justice Center on charges of rape, kidnapping, and robbery.
