(WDTN) - A second Darke County town has to canceled its Fourth of July fireworks display after its vendor has his fireworks confiscated by State Fire Marshals Office.

But there is good news. The City of Greenville says its gotten its money back and Ansonia also expects a refund.
But that's little consolation for residents who wanted to see fireworkers. The sign on the giant banner across Ansonia's downtown still says fireworks.

But across the community children are starting to find out the truth. Ten year old Lindsi says she dissapointed, "they hang these posters up and they have a jar in M&M's to collect money and then they don't even do them." Village leaders cancelled the Friday night show after the state fire marshals seized nearly two tons of fireworks.

All were supposed to be for displays in Ansonia and Greenville. Officials said they were illegally being stored in cars and a garage in a residential neighborhood by a vendor without a license.

"You assume which is wrong you should do it every year," says Ansonia mayor Jerry Koverman, I guess, we're not the only ones he deals with, you would think somebody along the line would be some checking."

In Greenville, the Fraternal Order of Eagles is taking down its sign for Sunday's fireworks show, but says there will still be food, games, and music, however admits it won't be the grand finale the community is used too.

"I think its a shame doing this people are looking forward to this and then all the sudden no fireworks." says Roger Kise of Greenville.  Adds Kerry Young, the President of the Eagles, "what this guy did would have endangered the people of darke county its unfortunate but we'll support what the fire marshall did."
