DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - Storms moved through the area late Thursday night in to early Friday morning leading to damage in some spots.

Firefighters battled a bolt-induced blaze on Heather Street in Englewood. The fire scorched some of the siding on the home, but firefighters got it under control before it caused too much damage.

The family was allowed to stay in the house.

The lightning wasn't the only problem the storms created. Heavy downpours flooded some streets like Tulip Drive in West Carrollton, but the high water subsided soon after the storms stopped.

The storms also knocked down part of a tree in German Township on Germantown-Middletown Pike. The branches only brushed the road, though, and it stayed open through the morning.
