DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - An effort to boost the region's 'Green' involvement was launched Thursday at PNC 2nd Street Market.

Dayton Regional Green 3 (DRG3) introduced the Green500 Challenge, a plan to reach 500 DRG3 Certified Green Businesses in 2013.

Organizors say a regional emphasis on sustainability and economic development will help businesses realize cost and operational savings through green practices.

Dayton Regional Green 3's mission is to promote greener government, business, and personal practices throughout the Montgomery County and Dayton region to ensure the environmental sustainability of our region and enhance the quality of life for our citizens.
