LONDON, Ohio (WDTN) - Ohio recorded its first death linked to a flu strain spread from pigs to people.
The Ohio Department of Health says a 61-year-old Madison County woman died earlier this week from the H3N2 flu virus.
She had several other underlying medical conditions that doctors say contributed to her death.
We're told she came into direct contact with swine at the Ross County Fair.
288 people nationwide have become ill with swine flu so far this summer.
Madison County is located in central Ohio. London is the county seat.
