DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - A Dayton company introduced some revolutionary technology Monday.
Optimus Prosthetics on North Dixie Drive, unveiled the PowerFoot BiOM.
It's made by i-Walk and is the world's first artificial limb system that actually uses robotics to replicate muscles and tendons.
Through a series of sensors, the device can quickly adjust walking speeds and adapt to changing terrain.
"So, what the BiOM does is it makes it a lot easier for them to do just general, everyday activities and it also takes a lot of the pressures off of the body," said Shane Namack, V.P. of Sales for iWalk.
Company officials say until now, most of the sales were made to the Department of Defense.
Now, it is commercially available.
The following people have recently been booked into Jail. They may not have been convicted of the crimes they are charged with and are innocent until proven guilty.
