BELLBROOK, Ohio (WDTN) - A local girls' basketball team hit the court Friday evening in honor of a former player's mother.
A sea of pink filled the Bellbrook Middle School gymnasium.
The Eagles took on Kenton Ridge in a rematch of last year's district championship.
It was also a way to honor and remember a member of the Bellbrook family.
"Had a young lady who played for us a couple years back, Katie Joyner, her mom passed away from breast cancer, so for the last four years, we've been trying to raise money for breast cancer research and this is the annual event that we do," said Jeff Eckley, JV Coach.
All proceeds from the game and t-shirt sales will go to the Help Her Fight Breast Cancer Unit At Miami Valley Hospital.
