DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - A documentary about a Dayton dancer will make its New York debut.
The film "Sparkle" will be shown at the Walter Reade Theatre at Lincoln Center on Wednesday, February 6.
It shares the life of Sheri "Sparkle" Williams who has performed for the Dayton Contemporary Dance Company for 40 years.
Ohio filmmakers Julia Reichert and Steven Bogner created the documentary. They are Oscar-nominated filmmakers having scored a nomination for their film The Last Truck: Closing of a GM Plant.
Williams' active dance career at the age of 50 is highly unusual with the physical demands of dance on the body.
