TROTWOOD, Ohio (WDTN) - The Trotwood Police Department teamed up with the VFW Wednesday to brighten the holiday of some local children.

We were with "The Boys in Blue" when they delivered bicycles to one of several families in need.

Ten bikes that the police department owned were given away.  The VFW made any necessary repairs first.

"They put new seats on them. They put new tires on. Some of them needed new brakes and different things like that," said Jeannette Mitchell, VFW.

"It's a tremendous blessing to see the kids smile when the bikes come in and we can making them happy," said Chief Quincy Pope, Trotwood Police Department.
