Tara Hastings started in October 2010 as the Weekend Meteorologist for Storm Team 2. Tara moved down I-75 from Toledo where she spent two years there.
Before coming to Ohio Tara worked in Green Bay, Wisconsin and Marquette, Michigan so she is no stranger to winter weather. In both cities she forecasted and reported live through record season snowfalls, including a nasty blizzard in Green Bay.
She's also tracked severe summer storms including tornadoes. Tara says the hardest part is seeing the damage tornadoes have left behind.
Tara graduated from Valparaiso University with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Meteorology. Her favorite course was a ten day trip across the plains chasing severe storms. In 2005 Tara earned her American Meteorological Society (AMS) seal of approval.
While in college Tara joined Kappa Delta sorority. She has been active through the years and recently was asked to be on the National Leadership Team to serve as a National Officer for the organization.
When Tara is not at work she enjoys cooking and cheering on the Green Bay Packers, The Buckeyes and The Chicago Cubs.
